Friday the 13th Messages
Writing my first blog on Friday the 13th, a day after my debut on paranormal TV's Real Psychics, a coincidence? I think not, as I was told the show wouldn't be out until the end of March, I thought I had time to get it all done! I was reluctant to learn the new technology, no more excuses- time to jump in! And my guess is that Spirit is saying to me, hey, Cal- Friday the 13th, catchy and memorable, we've got your marketing-back covered!
I find that now that I'm paying attention, alert to all the seemingly innocuous goings on around me, from emails and phone calls from old friends to items falling in my path or errant thoughts that cross my mind for apparently no reason-- that these are the clues I will need to offer messages to others, as well as myself. Spirit is sending messages all the time, they are speaking to me (and you) loudly and clearly, 24/7! The key to receiving the significance of the signs, signals and messages I notice in my daily goings-on is taking everything that occurs at absolute face value. For instance, when I got an email from my best girlfriend from college, Aimee, after not hearing from her in a decade, I knew it would impact a reading that day, and it did. Aimee was a Korean orphan, as was the deceased person who was the focus of the reading. This is in an upcoming episode featuring kinesiology.
These messages are sometimes subtle and sometimes obvious. Some examples of obvious messages from Spirit? A few months back, I was in the middle of running my interior design firm, changing career and life paths, dealing with financial disaster, finally completing the renovation of my historic home (with no money) and getting spiritually fit for the upcoming filming of the TV show. I was coming off some mind bending training with Jack Canfield, at his Advanced Breakthrough to Success seminar, and had just recieved my certification in Advanced Mediumship from that glorious soul, James van Praagh. Now, instead of daily meditating, I was faced with a monumental list of things to do, with a quickly looming deadline. I called my esteemed friend and colleague Mary R for design management help and support, making an appointment for the following week. Then I continued running myself ragged 24/7. Finally, after weeks of burning the candle at both ends, I laid my head on my pillow well after midnight, my last thought before slumberland was that I could finally sleep in the next morning. Ringggggggggggg.... What? Suddenly awake, all the phones in the house were ringing, one long, continuous unbroken ring, like an alarm clock! Hello? No one there. Caller ID, nada. CRAP! Mary!! I called her and asked her to give me 15 minutes. Thoroughly cranky and ungrateful, I asked Spirit, couldn't you have woken me up 15 minutes earlier than my appointment!?! They didn't hold it against me.
Examples of subtle messages from Spirit, too many to count! One I thought was pretty cool, which has since become a habituall way Spirit communicates with me, is "outrageous synchronicity." At Christmas, none of the books I brought home to read seemed interesting, and my Dad suggested I go through his stash, as he thought there was a true ghost story in there that he found for a buck. There was- I read it straight through in a day, sitting on the Living Room couch as my nephew watched one cartoon after another. Suddenly, the exact words I was reading I was hearing, exactly synchronized, not a millisecond off-- Honey, I'm home, Dori said to Nemo, and that's what I read. The same pattern continued, on and on. Reading/hearing/reading/hearing... Finally, the author briefly mentioned her mother, and went on to mention her mother's birthday, April 10th. Pappy! My grandfather's birthday, and this was his way of saying Hi! I'm here!
What appears so elaborately designed to us is child's play to them, the key is to notice, in the moment, and thank them for their loving message. A message of hope, of caring, of warning. Pay close attention, Spirit is giving you all the clues you need, all the time, to make better choices, to evaluate people's character and situations, to be discerning, to value the Gift of Life.
